AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Rooted Stock ROM [NC2/Android 4.4.2]

For those of you who want to go back to stock AT&T Note 3 NC2 Androdi 4.4.2 firmware but you don’t want to unroot your phone, you can grab the rooted stock ROM, which is exactly same as stock firmware but with root.

Also, if you are previous versions of stock firmware, you can install this instead of taking OTA update (install without factory reset) to update your AT&T Note 3 SM-N900A.

To install, use SafeStrap recovery!

    Hi,
    I have rooted AT&T Note 3 SM-N900A on 4.3.
    Baseband version : N900AUCUBMI9

I wanted to know if i can use this 4.4.2 stock rom or not.
If yes then how can i install it ? Just simple put the file on sd card and install from recovery ?
Do i need to format it or wipe data etc ?

And after on new stock 4.4.2 will it be still rooted ?

I previously rooted it with chainfire method it is on rooted stock rom 4.3

Hi, Max. Long time follower of your page. Saved me several times.

Question, my S Voice stopped working on mobile data. It will work with wifi.

    Any ideas?

    I’ve tried the following:
    1. Clearing the cache and data of the app and rebooting. Samsungs advice .
    2. Factory reset. AT&Ts advice.
    3. Factory reset via Recovery.
    4. Uninstall and reinstall of the APK.
    5. Calling AT&T to see if my mobile data APN was bad. They reset and that’s all they could do. Still didn’t work.

The voice stuff works on mobile wifi. Works great and fast just not on mobile data. However, I also noticed Google Voice Search no longer runs on mobile data either. Again, only wifi.

Mobile Data works great despite the above. Very fast browsing while off wifi

I’ve tried this with a few roms including the one above to no avail, but I am in Safestrap.

Thanks in advance, and keep up the awesome work.

You were able to login to Samsung Apps? Then it should work regardless of Wifi or cellular.

Yup. I was able to. All the other S Apps work, but S Voice does not….

HOWEVER, I did notice that Google Search using OK GOOGLE and Voice Typing doesn’t work, either. The mic works. I tried that. S Voice and OK GOOGLE work GREAT on wifi.

I am on NC2 4.4.2. I used Dynamic Kat 4.2, Fire Note v4, and got back to the STOCK ROM with just root. I wiped EVERYTHING by going into recovery (not safestrap nor TWRP) and wiped from there. Then installed STOCK on one of the Safestrap slots. I installed Dynamic and Fire on other slots. NONE work.

My last step is to just nuke the whole thing and go back to stock without root, but I want to do this, first.

AT&T is sending me a new one, but I’d rather keep this one and learn what happened. 🙂

      By the way, you rock!

    Hi, Max.

I’ve been following you since I had Galaxy S3. I’m now on the Note 3. Thank you for all you do! Your instructions have always been clear and easy to follow. I have rooted my NC2, Android 4.4.2, Note 3 Stock ROM months ago. Then later, I installed a custom ROM using Safestrap. Since then, I’ve been having horrible battery drain issue. My phone battery used to last all day without a problem, but now I run out of battery in less than 6 – 7 hours, with it just on standby (and Juice Defender turning all connection off). This is unacceptable for me. I’d like to take my phone back to simple rooted stock without any partition, like it was before I installed Safestrap, but I’m a bit confused as to how to do that. Perhaps there are others out there in the same situation as I am. Can you show us how?

Here are the details on my device:
    Model: Samsung SM N900A,
    Android Version 4.4.2
    Baseband version B900AUCUCNC2
    Kernel version 3.4.0-722276, dpi@SWDD5508 #1, Sat Mar 15 17:42:59 KST 2014
    Build number KOT49H N900AUCUCNC2
SE for Android status Enforcing, SEPF_SAMSUNG_SM_N900A_4.4.2_0017, Wed Jun 25 10:54:30 2014
Security software version MDF v1.0 Release 2

    Thanks for your help!
