How to Wifi Tether FREE on Sprint Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900P! [HOTSPOT MOD]

I know many of you want to get free wifi tether on your Sprint Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900P, and it’s easy to do if you have a rooted Sprint Galaxy Note 3.

First, you will need a rooted Sprint Galaxy Note 3, so follow our root guide on How to Root Galaxy Note 3 first and root your Sprint Note 3.

Step 1. Go into Settings->About device and check your Build number.  Mine ends in MI5.

Step 2. Next go to this page and check if there’s an “ODEXED” version of your Build number.  If you are on stock/ODEXED ROM, you need to used ODEXED.  On most custom ROMs, you probably don’t need this but you can use DEODEXED if you are trying on a custom ROM.

Download the appropriate file for your Build number.

Step 3. If you did not download straight to your phone, you can copy it to anywhere on your Note 3′s storage.

Step 4. Turn your Sprint Note 3 power off.  Then hold down Volume Up, Center Home, and Power buttons together for about 3 seconds.

Step 5. Once in CWM or TWRP recovery, choose “install from zip” for CWM and “Install” for TWRP.

Step 6. Browse your internal storage or micro-SD card and find the file you downloaded earlier.

Step 7. Install the zip file and reboot.  That’s it!

Step 8. Now when you turn on your Hotspot, it shouldn’t give you error messages.  You will now be able to wifi tether your 3G or 4G LTE with other wifi devices such as your computer, laptop, TV, another smartphone, etc…etc…

How do I update from MI3 to MI5? When I go to update my phone it says cannot update because your phone has been modified.

assuming you have root, download the mi5 firmware update zip file from xda and flash it in your recovery then wipe everything then you gotta start from scratch again because titanium backup won’t work yet from a fresh rom install. walaa. problem solved.

I just find a solution to this problem,
When you go and root your Note 3, it blocks the updates coming to your device so what I did was unroot my Note 3 using this method:
      http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-repair/how-to-unroot-galaxy-note-3/

Now you can update your device without any problem. After this you need to root your device again using this method:
      http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-3/

After you root your phone you can Wi-Fi tether your device using the right “ODEXED” version of your Build number, in my case is the “MI4”

      Hope this helps!!!

Is there a method that will not set of the KNOX flag counter? I rooted with De La Vega procedure. No custom recovery. No custom ROM. No tether that works.. one for about 5 minutes the crashes.

TO DE LA VEGA ROOTED NOTE 3 USERS
I have had moderate success with a Tether router app on Google Play store. I have the Sprint version note 3. I also had to install a DHCP router. Ultimate router I think. I only use the simple DHCP router. sometimes not. I get mixed results on adhoc. A lot of it I am sure is Sprint is so horrific right now how could you tell.

Hope that helps you and lets the developer get a clue as to what is wrong.

Yes brother works with the mj4 update but pick the file that says MJ4 the only thing that I can see is that when there’s no data signal a small “no data connection” appears on the screen I hate it, make a backup of your Rom before flashing this file I went back once to see if I had that problem before and apparently no, but anyway is something I can live with it for now lol is better than not having free tethering cuz tethering works fine

Tried this wifi mod twice on two different phones and it bricked them both. one was only 2 hours out of the box. Rooted phone using the method that does not trip counter. Used CWM to install wifi mod and it kidded not 1 but 2 phones. I know I did it right because it worked on the first N3 that I had. Had to get that one replaced because of bad LCD. tried the mod on the second phone and killed it as did the third. Any expiation as to why it is not working now.

I’m trying to setup wifi tether on rooted Sprint Galaxy Note 3. Link to page for correct ODEXED not opening. Is there another way to this page?
