If you are a T-Mobile or Canadian Note 3 user with either SM-N900T or SM-N900W8, we have some great news for you. You can now install any SM-N9005 custom ROM on your T-Mobile or Canadian Note 3 with everything working out of the box.
This is for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROMs ONLY, for Android 4.4.2 KitKat, go here instead.
The broken restore ROM feature on CWM Recovery now has been fixed for most of the Note 3 models, you can check for the update versions on our Galaxy Note 3 ClockworkMod/TWRP Recoveries page. Look for “*New – Restore fully supported” and you will see those models have been updated.
For those of you who like TWRP Recovery over CWM recovery, it is now available for Sprint SM-N900P, T-Mobile SM-N900T, and Canadian Note 3 models, grab em here.
TWRP Recovery is nearly identical to CWM Recovery in features except it does have support also for USB mount and USB-OTG. This can be great for using USB-OTG to backup your ROMs to a flash drive.
Thanks to XDA developer, Shabbypenguin, CWM Recovery is now available for Sprint Note 3 SM-N900P users. Be aware, restore function is not currently supported by the Note 3 so DO NOT RESTORE ROMs until developers have figured out a way around it (this is on ALL Note 3s) as Note 3 has a new security feature that’s causing the issue.
When rooting your Galaxy Note 3 by installing a custom CWM/TWRP recovery, you may flag the Knox counter.
What is Knox counter?
Previously, Samsung used binary counters on Galaxy Note 2 and earlier devices. Starting with Note 3, Samsung is using Knox counter, which is basically the “new” binary counter.
For those of you having trouble restoring apps using Titanium Backup app on a rooted Galaxy Note 3, this is due to SElinux file markers, which are spoiled by Titanium Backup app during restore. After restoring your apps with Titanium Backup app, you may see that all of your restored apps are force closing (FCs).
Well, that was quick. XDA user Chenglu (who has been making some excellent CWM for Samsung Galaxy devices) has already created 3 different versions of CWM recovery for GT-N9005, GT-N9006, and GT-N900T models of Galaxy Note 3. (Check here for Galaxy Note 3 CWM/TWRP recoveries)
