How to Root Galaxy Note 3!

There’s already a working CWM recovery which means you may be able to easily root your brand, new Galaxy Note 3 easily.

Here’s an outline of steps you must do to root your Galaxy Note 3.  This guide works for all Jelly Bean Android 4.3, KitKat Android 4.4.2, 4.4.4, and Lollipop Android 5.0, 5.0.1, and 5.0.2.  For KitKat/Lollipop, make sure you use the updated CWM recovery instead.


How to Root AT&T/Verizon Galaxy Note 3 on Android 4.4.2!

For those of you who couldn’t root your AT&T or Verizon Galaxy Note 3 on Android 4.4.2, it was because the latest Android 4.4.2 is unrootable.  BUT, XDA user GeoHot has figured out how to root it!

This root method actually works on all Galaxy Note 3 models with Android 4.4.2 and also does not trip KNOX for those of you worried about it.  It will work on Android 4.4.2 with build numbers ending in NC2 or NC4.

For this week’s Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 ROM of the week, check out BobCat ROM!  (Sorry, I found out the hard way wifi/cellular gets buggy if you install SM-N9005 ROMs on T-Mobile or Canadian Note 3s, but there should be a fix later down the road.)

How to Root Verizon Galaxy Note 3!

For those of you who want to root your Verizon Galaxy Note 3 (model number SM-N900V), here’s a root method that will root your phone while keeping KNOX counter at 0x0.

Before we begin, please pull out any microSD cards and also make a backup of everything including your photos, videos, and anything in your internal storage you want to save as this root method will ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR VERIZON NOTE 3!!!


How to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A!

For those of you with AT&T Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A, now there’s finally a root method available.

This root method will erase everything on your phone so MAKE A BACKUP before proceeding!!!

UPDATE: AT&T has updated software and this root method will not work unless you have N900AUCUBMI9 build number!!! (Settings->About Device->Build Number)

CF Auto Root for Galaxy Note 3!

For those of you who want to only “root” your Note 3 and have no need for custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP recovery, you can also flash “CF Auto Root” for your Galaxy Note 3 by ChainFire.

You can install this in the same manner as installing a custom recovery (follow Steps 1 through 7 in the root instructions but use CFRoot .tar file instead) and this will give you root/SuperSU.
