For those of you who want to install SM-N9005 KitKat custom ROM on your T-Mobile SM-N900T or Canadian Note 3 SM-N900W8, Android 4.3 patch does not work.

But the good news is that I tweaked the patch to make it work along with any T-Mobile KitKat kernel such as Compulsion or Saber kernel.

Before you try this, you must have the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat bootloader.  If you’ve never upgraded to the official KitKat ROM for your Note 3, make sure you do that first.  If you are still on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (never upgraded to Android 4.4.2 firmware), make sure you unroot to Android 4.4.2 using the latest T-Mobile NB4 Android 4.4.2 stock firmware first. Then re-install the latest KitKat-compatible CWM recovery using ODIN, and simply install it.  For Canadian, same thing but use Canadian stock firmware.

This should also work on other Note 3 U.S. variants out there.

WARNING: Some custom ROMs may ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE!  So, make a backup of everything on your internal storage before trying this method!!!

Step 1. Install your favorite SM-N9005 KitKat ROM such as BobCat KitKat ROM using CWM or TWRP recovery.

Step 2. Boot your ROM first to make sure there’s no errors.  Once booted, reboot into CWM or TWRP then install the patch and kernel.

You can get the Compulsion or Saber kernel.

Why would you want to install SM-N9005 ROMs on your T-Mobile or Canadian Note 3?

Well, you have more custom ROMs you can install, WiFi hotspot works out of the box for T-Mobile.  But do note you won’t be able to use WiFi Calling so don’t install SM-N9005 custom ROMs if you use that often.
