Android 7.1 Nougat for Galaxy Note 3! [CM14.1 ROM]

For those of you who are jealous of your friends who have recently bought a brand, new Pixel smartphone, you no longer have to be if you install Android 7.1 Nougat on your Galaxy Note 3 using CM14.1 ROM.  (See our Pixel XL Unboxing & Initial Review)

With CM14.1 ROM, you will be able to enjoy the best and great Android OS right on your Galaxy Note 3 along with root. (You will have to enable root manually on CM14.1 like before.)  But everything works out of the box including data, voice, WiFi, bluetooth, camera, and even 4K video recording.

While this isn’t an official CyanogenMod ROM, I am damn impressed at how near-flawless the ROM runs and you could use it as daily driver.  This ROM is also available for any “hlte” variants like international SM-N9005, T-Mobile SM-N900T, and Canadian SM-N900W8.

You will be able to enjoy latest Nougat features like split-window (that works out of the box on Android 7.0/7.1), better battery optimization (longer battery life while your phone screen is off), and performance is decent (52K on Antutu).  If you want to add Pixel features, you can grab Google Assistant and also Google Pixel Launcher to make it complete just like  your friend’s Pixel phone.

Overall, I am pretty impressed at how well this “beta” CM14.1 ROM runs on my T-Mobile Note 3 so if you have a model that is supported, definitely give it a twhirl this week(end) and do let me know what you think!
