Infamous ROM for Galaxy Note 3! [2.726Ghz Overclocking]

For this week’s Galaxy Note 3 ROM of the week, check out the Infamous ROM by XDA user Jamison904, available for T-Mobile, Canadian, and SM-N9005 variants.

Based on latest T-Mobile Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware, Infamous ROM brings you the latest and best KitKat along with performance boost/super-long battery life.

With Infamous ROM, you will be able to instantly change the TouchWiz launcher theme by going to Menu->Settings->Set theme.  Never get tired of your UI by being able to switch easily between Note 3, S5, S5pro, Sense 5, Wanma, and Minion themes.

At the heart of Infamous ROM is BioShock kernel, which XDA user Jamison904 also made.  BioShock kernel is what makes this ROM pretty darn impressive with its performance boost with Quadrant scores near whopping 28k!

With BioShock kernel, you will get 2.726Ghz overclocking of your Note 3 out of the box along with voltage control, fast charge, and multitude of governors to work with. You can use Trickster MOD app on Play Store to make changes to the kernel settings.  My Note 3 is now officially faster and gets better battery life than my S5.

For tweaking Trickster MOD, I do recommend leaving it as it is, the only change I made was to undervolt 25mV, which should save you give you even more battery life even with overclocking. To do this, goto Menu->Specific then hit the “-” button under MPU Voltages and set to “-25”. If done correctly, your 300Mhz voltage should show 725mV. Make sure you set “Kernel Settings” checked on under Settings so it will keep the new setting upon reboots. I also found this does even help overclocking speeds as with lower voltages, your CPU will run at lower temps thus allowing your higher frequencies to run better/faster.  If you don’t play games 24/7 and don’t put your phone at full CPU frequencies all the time, you can even experiment to -50mV, which has worked for me quite well since I don’t use my phone for CPU-extensive apps.

Overall, Infamous ROM is recommended for those of you who want barebones ROM (without bloatware/KNOX) with ultimate speed and great battery life while doing so. So, if you are in town for testing the fastest Note 3 ROM on the market “right now”, give the infamous ROM a test drive over the week(end) and do let me know what you think!

As for UI customization, I do recommend using 3rd-party Xposed apps such as Wanam Xposed. (See below tutorial video for demo in Extras!)

Download Infamous ROM for Galaxy Note 3 (for T-Mobile SM-N900T, Canadian SM-N900W8, or SM-N9005)

To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, and reboot. (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop, reboot into recovery, go to Advanced Wipe for TWRP or Mounts & Storage for CWM, format/wipe /system, then re-install ROM.)  See How to Install ROM on Note 3 first if this is your first time.

There is a benign bug on the ROM that force closes Phone app on boot, to stop this, delete the CSC.apk under system/priv-app using ES File Explorer in Root Mode/System mounted and reboot.

Q:My wifi is not connecting!
A: Download and Install BuildProp Editor app from Play Store then change the line “” value from “true” to “false” then reboot.   That will fix the wifi issues.
