I have the Note 3 SM-N900V, I literally just updated it to 5.0 and found out there’s literally no way of rooting it now and that I should have rooted it beforehand. Is there any hope?

I was installing lollipop 5.0 on my Verizon SM- 900V, i downloaded N900V_JasmineROM_v5.0 and v5.0.2 and Odin3 v3.10.6 to my PC, I resteted my phone but didint load roms that i instaled to my download folder as the tutorial indicated, i then open odin mode and installed N900VVRUEOB6_PartialFirmware.tar. which finnaly distroyed my expected happiness. now my phone starts but only displays Samsung galaxy note3 only. i finally realized that some file i saw on the tutorial to the download folder like tr.apk was useful, Now what should i do please.

  8. Walter says:

Can the Verizon Note 3 running Lollipop be rooted? I have been trying to find a straight answer for days and havent realy come up with anything.

    • Gabo says:

No root method as of yet for sm-n900v. if you want to achieve root, you have to downgrade to 4.4.2. Install towel root/safe strap/busy box. Then you can flash jasmine 5.0+; but once you have LP, safe strap will no longer work. You will need to use flash fire as a replacement.

      • Ken says:

I have Verizon Note 3 (SM-N900V) running stock Android 5.0 How can I downgrade to 4.4.2? I am not particularly interested in installing a custom ROM just obtaining root so I can decrap my phone with
Titanium Backup. The above comment is way to vague and jargon like “Once you have LP” is unhelpful.

        • Gabo says:

I was answering walter’s question that’s why It probably didn’t make sense to you. To downgrade you need Odin and download the sm-n900v stock 4.4.2 zip and flash it via Odin. You will also need towel root to get root access.

          • Ken says:

Odin runs on Windows. I use Linux and have seen an Odin replacement called Jodin. It’s a Java program that can be run locally or via a web interface.

I’ve searched for the stock 4.2.2 zip for the Verizon Note III (sm-n900v) with no success. If I find it I will try flashing it via USB cable using Jodin. If successful are there other alternatives to towel root?

In your answer to Walter “Install towel root/safe strap/busy box. Then you can flash jasmine 5.0+; but once you have LP, safe strap will no longer work. You will need to use flash fire as a replacement.” Does that mean toweo root + safestrap + busybox? Or does it mean I can choose one of them for root?

Would Jasmine be the only custom ROM available at that point?

        • BeitB says:

Were you able to successfully switch from 5.0 to 4.4.2?

Im in the same situation and am not feeling confident in the downgrade with the Verizon note 3.

Did you get this to work and if so can you elaborate and help me to do the same?
          Many thanks,

  9. gregg says:

Thanks a bunch. It worked perfectly. The phone is so much faster and battery life is 2X what I was getting on KitKat. Jasmine rocks. Highly suggest

  11. Mark says:

I am coming from the latest biggins rom on Verizon note 3.

When in safestrap I do a factory reset (in stock rom slot) and when I go to install the jasmine rom safestrap says “failed to unzip.” Any one have any thoughts on this?

  12. Ernesto says:

So. Are not ways to get root acces on 5.0? So the only way is downgrade first and after flash with jasmine rom???

  13. AOues says:

Hello this rom is a multilingual french included

  14. mike says:

My phone is on android 5.0 and is NOT yet rooted. Can I still use this without rooting first? If not, how do i root? thanks

  15. Betwel says:

Guys my sm900 Verizon was rooted to 5.0 lollipop, wat happened later is network disability. How can i resolve this.

  16. Barry Kaufman says:

i did everything but after loading the file in odin and pressing start, it doesn’t do what your video does and phone does nothing. it just says all threads completed. (success 0 / failed 0)

    • Edgar says:

you need to make sure ur phone is in the correct screen by holding down volume down home and power all at the same time after it promps u press volume up hook up to computer load file to odin and it should work

      • Barry Kaufman says:

I later realized I never installed the drivers…stupid me. That said, 5.0 now works (with Root) but I can no longer access the settings menu, it keeps crashing. I’m assuming I just need to reinstall the ROMS and start over correct?

  17. Edgar says:

I installed this works great the only problem I am having is installing framework module for xposed installer it says it not compatible.

  18. mark says:

Has anyone else had a significant 4G signal loss with this rom? Since upgrading to this I have a lot less signal in places I used to get full signal. Note 3 verizon.
Friends ofnkine with stock note 2s and 3s standing right next to me will have 2 to 4 bars when my phone is without ANY signal at all.

The rom itself is awesome but I am having serious issues staying connected to the network.

And I keep getting a security notification that “unauthorized actions……….” Have had rooted phones in the past with custom roms but having trouble finding info for my version and build.

    • DeliriousSyntax says:

This is probably one of the hardest phones to root and install/find custom ROMs on SM-N900V I hate it

  20. DeliriousSyntax says:

Hey I was wondering if you could do a fresh search for SM-900V lollipop ROMs 5.1.x or 5.0.x And even better a note 5 port for this version would me much appreciated and thank yoi
